Snowmobiling with Eric Porter and Fuzzy Hall
01.31.08 -- Eric Porter
Just got back from a great day of snowmobiling with BMX legend and Utah local Fuzzy Hall. I've gotten to be pretty good friends with him over the last couple years through dirt jumping all the local trails and riding at his amazing house, and now that we both have snowmobiles we've been getting out on them quite a bit as well. Yesterday was one of those days you remember for a while, I would say best day of the season so far. We have averaged over a foot of snow every night for about 5 nights now, and being weekdays, it has stayed completely untracked in the backcountry. It was actually snowing most of the time while we were riding, and they are expecting another foot of snow tonight, and the one after that as well, it's ridiculous. Anyway, it was really really deep, like over waist deep of fresh, when you make deep turns you pretty much disapear, it's cool. So here's just a few shots to give you a basic idea of what it's like, it was hard to make ourselves stop long enough to even take these pictures! You can see the turns I had just made in one of the shots, with Fuzz way in the background, and then there's a close up shot of a decent turn, not super deep though, and then a shot after we got done riding. And while I'm on the subject of snowmobiling, I attached a photo from a different day where I rode around the backside of Alta ski resort, all the way to their highest lift, it was pretty cool to be able to get that high up that easy!! Wish you guys were out here too!
