Bike feels way lighter than you would expect making it a joy to ride however when putting the RS1 crank under load (accellerating), there is an internal knock that sounds like something is binding inside the frame. I've removed any side to side play from the axles and B&B spindle but no luck. Checking the sealed bearings in the BB tonight and will also try adding a spacer as.noted in a similar review to try and resolve issue. Only other part that has any play (inward and outward) is the free wheel on the rear hub. Otherwise, fantastic cruiser that will surely become a sought after collector's piece in time.
Great looking bike. Very easy to ride. I did pull out the bottom bracket and add an additional 2mm spacer to allow the cranks to tighten without binding.
I put on a black pivotal seat because the cream coloured one would end up filthy and some black ODI grips. Also I replaced the freewheel with a
White Industries freewheel I had in the shed, because they are unbreakable. I really enjoy riding this bike and the 39-17 gearing is spot on for most riding.
And lastly this is great value for money IMO.
Great bike...light fast and durable. Been riding dirt jumps and bmx track. Changed my seat to go lighter, added 1” taller bars (I’m 6’1 200lbs), new grips and bike has been dialed in. Rides like a 20” through the whoops, manuals great, jumps amazing!! Don’t sleep on this machine if you can still find one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had to re-assemble bottom bracket and repack bb bearing right out of the box. 1 Bearing was dry and crankset assembled with too much torque. Freewheel had issues too and needed proper reassembly. Those issues aside, bike is great!
I was lucky to get one at the very first week of the year. Fell in love with it. I normally ride a 29 big ripper.but after my first ride. It became my favorite. I felt more secure going off jumps. It just felt perfect. Unfortunately I only had it for like 6 or 7 weeks. Someone stole it right out of my back yard. I'm trying to get another one but no one has eny in stock. Or at least no one I've tried.
